How Do I Use the Extra Space Storage Mobile App?

To use the Extra Space Storage app, first rent a storage unit through our Rapid Rental process. Then, download the self-storage app from your mobile app store and log in using the same email you used to rent your unit. Once you're set up, you can stop by your storage facility and access your gate code directly from the app. Or if your facility has a Bluetooth gate, you can also unlock the gate by selecting "digital access" in the app.

• Call Extra Space Storage customer support directly from the app if you need help.

Bluetooth customers also receive the following mobile app benefits:

• Open Bluetooth locks and gates to access your storage unit.

• Share digital access with family or friends by sending digital keys, and remove access anytime.

• View a secure activity log of when your key or a shared key unlocks the gate, door, or your storage unit.

How to Download the App

To download our mobile app, search for the Extra Space Storage app on your phone's app store. Click download, and you're done! Sign in using the same email you used to rent your storage unit.

How to Set Up an Account

To create an account on the Extra Space Storage mobile app, follow these steps:

1. Tap Sign Up.

2. Input the email address you used to rent a storage unit.

3. You will receive a verification code to your email.

4. The code can take a few minutes to arrive in your inbox. If you don't receive a code via email, you may have used a different email than the one tied to your account. You can also try to send the verification email again. To resend, tap Send Again. Only the newest code will be valid.

5. Once you have successfully downloaded and set up app access, you will be able to see your unique gate access code.
