Silver Spring self storage at 7722 Fenton St

My experience over the phone with Michael Spencer was awesome. He helped me book my storage incredibly quickly, and was kind and respectful throughout the entire interaction. Would definitely recommend this service in the future. ***Update May 2024: I unfortunately had to terminate my contract and move out of my unit this month due to a massive price increase. As I said above, the staff was kind and respectful. However, the per month rental cost went up by $100 without any notification, which forced me to have to vacate the premises on principle. I had only been in the unit for a couple of billing Cycles. Really sad that they would do such a thing after only a couple of months. Can't possibly expect someone to continue renting the unit with such a major price increase after such a short amount of time. Truly unfortunate.

UPDATE May 2, 2024 We have moved out of this storage facility. The rampant rate increases were just too much to bear. Our cost doubled in two years without any real justification. I know what inflation has done to pricing, but 200% in two years left me no choice but to move out. It's a good, clean facility and our stuff has been just fine housed there, but the cost is just too high. Our facility manager, Benjamin, did a great job resolving a recent outrageously high rate increase. Corporate raised our rate based on an inaccurate amount we are current paying, which resulted in a 50% rate increase!! Meanwhile, Benjamin is not told by corporate when rate increases are coming, how much they might be, or the basis on which a rate increase was made. That makes for a bad customer experience. So ESS provides really good customer service at the facility, coupled with inaccurate, uncommunicative (and somewhat greedy) management at corporate. UPDATE: I received the dumbest reply ever to this review. The "owner" replied in part: "we don't guarantee rates for the life of a storage contract". Of course not; no self respecting business would guarantee such a thing. However a 50% increase in rates approximately 8 months after the last huge rate increase qualifies at least as corporate greed and perhaps even price gouging (anyone at the FTC read these posts?).

Michael and the extra space storage team have been a great help answering my questions and helping to troubleshoot any issues. They are always responsive and proactive to help. I highly recommend this location.

Good facility. Great customer service

I came by Saturday for a storage clean out and the gentleman and young lady at the front were more than helpful. They assisted with getting me through the gate and helped with parking. I also noticed them both going above and beyond to assist other customers as well. Thank you for your customer service!
